About
She listens before she diagnoses.
Jessica Wu, MD is a Harvard trained, board certified dermatologist who has practiced in Beverly Hills for more than twenty five years. Her patients, from actresses to executives, come for a light and precise hand and for results that leave them looking like themselves. They stay because she takes the time to understand the whole person in front of her, not only the concern she came in with.
That habit is what led to WUME. Patients kept arriving with a question about skin and leaving with questions about hair, hormones, sleep, weight and energy. The changes were connected. Their care was not.
She has never been afraid to go first
Dr. Wu wrote one of the first books to argue that what you eat shows up in your skin. Feed Your Face became a bestseller at a time when most of medicine treated diet and dermatology as unrelated.
She has served as a clinical investigator in trials of injectable and topical treatments that went on to receive FDA approval, and she developed her own skincare line. She has built two companies: WUME, where dermatology and women's health physicians practice together, and Residen, founded in 2023, a health technology company she leads as chief executive, built so that independent physicians can practice without the weight of running a building.
Her curiosity is matched by rigor, experience, and the restraint to know when not to treat.
Teaching and physician advocacy
Dr. Wu serves on Harvard Medical School's Advisory Council on Education. She has taught dermatology at USC, developed a lecture series for UCLA and USC residents on what training leaves out about actually practicing, and mentors medical students, residents and fellow physicians.
She speaks to physicians and to industry on independent practice, physician burnout, regenerative and aesthetic medicine, and midlife health.
