CHOOSE MY SHOES
👠✨Which shoes should I wear with this dress: # 1, 2, or 3?
When I started in medicine, I wore navy slacks, white coat, and sensible shoes—because I thought I had to look “serious” to be taken seriously.
25 years later, I have the confidence to wear what I love. My reputation was built through decades of skill, care, and work ethic — regardless of my shoes.
A physician friend in Boston told me she stopped coloring her hair and gave up heels after a female superior at her hospital mocked women who wore makeup, colored their hair, and wore heels. This made me sad and angry.
Why 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 a top doctor wear heels 𝘢𝘯𝘥 be at the top of her field? I will keep doing my part to redefine what expertise 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 like. (And I always enjoy talking fashion with patients!)
What do you think? And which one’s your pick: 1, 2, or 3? 👇
