GENERIC VS BRAND NAME

Not all medications are created equal. 💊

Did you know that brand name and generics can have different inactive ingredients—like preservatives—that may trigger unexpected side effects 😖?

I learned the hard way when I broke out in hives after my pharmacy switched my medication to a generic. 

❗️Lesson learned: pay close attention to any new refill, even if it’s something you’ve taken for years.

Case in point: A Canadian six year old’s ADHD prescription was mistakenly refilled with a type of morphine instead!! Luckily his father noticed the pills were a different color and alerted the pharmacy.

Be careful and ask questions if you notice anything off with your meds.
