SPRING CLEANING

I did a beauty drawer intervention at my dear friend @ryanmichelleb ‘s house this weekend. She’s a product-lover (aren’t we all?!) but here’s why it’s important to purge products every so often:

1. BACTERIA, MOLD, AND VIRUSES (like Herpes) can grow on the surface & INSIDE your beauty products 🤮. Hint: even if you wipe off mold, fungal filaments can grow through the product (same goes for cheese, btw).

 2. Toss if product CHANGES COLOR OR CONSISTENCY, OR SMELLS ODD. It likely won’t work as well, and could cause irritation or infection.

3. CHECK EXPIRATION DATES or follow these general guidelines:

💋 LIPGLOSS/OIL/MASCARA/LIQUID LINER: 3-6 months
💄 Lipstick/Foundation: 6-9 months
✏️ Powder/Pencils: 9-12 months
🧴 Skincare: 6-12 months
